little problem solver

Bryson is learning so much lately. He doesnt always do things traditionally but gets things done. Here is an example.Matt and I have been trying to get Bryson to eat things with bowl and spoon by himself, we are starting slow but we have tried yogurt and Mashed Potatoes. he did really well with the yogurt but I think the potatoes were a little sticky for him. He tried but gave up! this is what he came up with.he is actually licking out potatoes!!! such a funny little boy

Cafe Brasil

Normally I dont use the blog just to tell everyone about how good a restaurant but as my friend Jen says, you will blog about the things that are important to you!
After camping on Saturday we went with Mir and Gatlin to Santa Cruz for lunch, I had been hearing about a little Brazilian restaurant that was worth going to, It's called Cafe Brasil and its SOOO worth it!
Mir, Gatlin and Matt all served their missions in Brasil so it seems when we are all together I hear a lot of Portuguese and we fit in some good Brazilian food too! This was the no different.
Its open for breakfast and lunch, but if you know anything about Brazil they aren't really known for breakfast! the lunch was great and worth the wait. I had read reviews that said there was usually a wait on Saturdays and there was but not too bad and the service was good. Matt and Gatlin both enjoyed a plate of Fejioda ( a traditional Brazilian stew of black beans and different cuts of meats). And Mir and I both had beans, rice and a meat they were good but I think My favorite part was the passion fruit mousse. The hardest decision was what to drink. I know that sounds pretty funny but they had so many yummy Brazilian drinks we all had different things but I think my fav was the passion fruit juice, it tasted just like it did in Brazil!
Bryson ate a lot too, he loves beans and rice and Gatlin was kind enough to share all the sugary juices, mousse and acai with him, he bounced off the walls until he crashed and took a 4 hour nap!
We all ate so much we wanted to be rolled out of there!!
I would recommend this place to any one who wants some great food with a cute atmosphere.

Our Happy Camper

Bryson has already gone camping twice so far this summer and is LOVING being outdoors~
he started the season off with the wards father/son camp out.Matt said Bryson did really well and had a good time. He explored , lounged in the tent and played with his friend Luke.

They had a really great time and so did I! I had a girls night with Meg and Jen, we watched New Moon and talked until 1am, I can't remember the last time I did that but it was nice.

Last weekend we went camping with our friends Miriam and Gatlin, it was the first time we hung out with them as a married couple it was a good time but SOOOO cold, we were not prepared and did not sleep well but again it was a good time.

Miriam showed Bryson an inch worm and put it on his hand, he was concentrating so hard it was really funny!
Thanks Mir and Gatlin for such a great time.

Welcoming the weather

Today is park day and Bryson had an especially good day! we went to Braly park which is right by our house it was in the 70's today. The girl that emailed out where we were going this week let people know that there was a water sprinkler and to bring swim suits, I had it in my hand and then I dont know what happened but it didnt come with us:(
I felt that Bryson would be afraid of it and wouldnt want to come in, but that was NOT the case, he was squealing and stomping in the water!

I don't think that I have ever seen him so happy!
needless to say he came home in just a diaper.
we can't wait for summer!

Babymoon!

Matt and I were lucky to be able to take a trip before the baby is born, actually we did with Bryson too! we had both trips planned before I was pregnant as well, and both trips we went on a cruise. Kinda funny but I can honestly say that a cruise while you are pregnant is amazing for many reasons, you are a bit limited with the high adventure but there are still plenty of things to do ;)
This trip Matt and I went to Cabo. It was really nice and perfect weather, but we both thought it was so Americanized, it looked like Newport Beach and has a Johnny Rocketts!
We were able to take a catamaran trip and go snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez, on that trip we also saw a Grey whale... pretty awesome!
The ship it self was great! 24hr pizza and frozen yogurt sure helps a pregnant girl out, no help to my belly but I am sure the baby was happy! The dining was amazing! Prime rib, Lobster, and warm chocolate melting cake... need I say more?
Matt read a book for fun, not class and I took a nap EVERY day! It was a perfect trip with my amazing husband! Bryson got to hang out with Grandparents, Uncles, and his Aunt Goose :)

Here are some pics :)
